Edenderry

Situated 4 miles south of Belfast city centre, this reserve is very interesting for its fauna and flora. Divided into two areas, it has a part of planted deciduous woodland and another part of fen and willow.

Woodland at EdenderryAccess: The woodland area can be accessed through a kissing gate by the general public, but there is no access to the fen.

Getting There: Take the unclassified road signposted to Edenderry, from the Outer Ring Road at Shaws Bridge. Park at Edenderry Village and take the path down to the River Lagan. Turn right and follow the towpath.

Look out for: ground beetle, song thrush, mistle thrush, water rail, stock dove, toothwort, broad-leaved helleborine.
