Living Seas Projects

Coming soon to a shore near you!

The Ulster Wildlife Trust will soon be getting out to many of the shores all around Northern Ireland with schools and voluntary groups in order to look for rocky shore animals and seaweeds which are indicators of climate change.

This unique project is an opportunity to take part in 'real' science and to help monitor the impact of rising sea temperatures on our rocky shore species. 'The Shore Thing' project is funded by the Peter de Hann Charitable Trust, in partnership with the Marine Biological Association based in Plymouth.

All the information collected will be made available online and will help to build a picture of how things are now to measure change in the future. For more information visit www.marlin.ac.uk/shore_thing/index.htm
