There are a number of ways you can get involved with the Newry and Mourne LBAP.
I need to know as much as possible about the species present in our district. So the next time you are out and about or even just hanging out the washing, have a look around! You can send information on sightings to me at Newry and Mourne District Council, or just give me a ring!
Also, keep an eye out for upcoming events and meetings. There will be public meetings twice a year regarding the LBAP project. The first LBAP Partnership meeting was held in Bagenal's Castle on Saturday 4th August and was well attended. This is an open forum, and there are usually fun activities to take part in afterwards! Meetings and events are advertised in the local press and will appear here on latest news!
You can also get involved with any future projects across the district. If you are part of a community group and would be interested in creating your own biodiversity project just get in touch. However, you don't have to undertake a huge project to increase biodiversity in our district, there are small things everyone can do. Just take a look at the 'make space for nature' campaign on this site to get tips on gardening for wildlife!
